Error message between linked surveys was created by canderson2
Hi there,
I have 2 surveys linked together and I'm having an issue with an error coming up after participants finish the first survey, preventing them from getting to the second one.
I have it set that the end url for the first survey is that of the second survey. It is active. I've tested it myself and at times I get the error and at times I don't.
Here's a picture (a bad one, sorry I didn't realize it was cut off and I can't recreate it at the moment)

Did you check the second survey via direct URL access?
Is data carried over to the second survey via URL get parameter?
The error message is missing important parts.
I would copy the second survey and check if the error vanish. Might be a faulty survey structure inside the database.

Data too long : seems you want to save a value too long in the database.
We (try to) disable this in the last limesurvey version (during 3.X if i don't make error). Then :
1. What is your version
2. Can you set debug mode and send the complete error
3. Can you shown the ned link

Perhaps you are transporting variables via the URL which might cause the issue depending on the content.

And that worked? Did you check with accessing the new second survey with a URL like created via EndURL?canderson2 wrote: I've asked my administrator to re-upload my survey to see if that works.
Working on Version 3.17.0+190402

You can change the EndURL field while having the survey running.canderson2 wrote: Can I change the endurl of the main survey to be the url of the new survey without deactivating? (Can I do it if it's expired?)

They haven't done it yet.
I only downloaded the full survey .txt file and not the questions individually and I can't upload the full survey myself - only question by question or group by group.
Is there a way to edit the .txt file of the full survey to make it just one question group?
If not, I'll just wait and see once they upload it for me.
Thanks for letting me know about the endurl .

Which TXT file? Why not use the .LSS (Limesurvey Survey) file, or the LSG (LimeSurvey Group)?
