After some trial and error, I got the SQL Server dblib driver working, and now when I put the credentials (for a SQL Azure database) into the web installer, it just hangs there, never proceeding. I'm not sure what's going on with this, but it's a bummer. Any ideas?

Strangely : seems to have css/js issue (button seems strange).

Nope, no errors, it just hangs forever. We're hosted on Azure, so it'd be nice to run everything in our dedicated Azure SQL db, because compared to Azure's MySQL option (ClearDB, which is apparently horrendous), that seems like the best option available to us at the moment. Do you think it's a driver compatibility issue with Azure SQL maybe?

There weren't any Js errors either. I had to give up on the SQL Server connection because I'm in a time crunch with this, so I just opted to use the local mysql instance. Thanks anyways though!

Yeah, it's the most recent stable version from the site. I just downloaded it a few days ago. Not sure why it wouldn't error or anything. Do you think it might have something to do with the sql driver for freetds?

Either way, I'm up and running nicely now on MySQL, but I'll be happy to poke around some more and try to find errors or a bug for you if you just point me in the right direction.
