Question type to use was created by endri
Hi All,

I am working on a survey. Actually I am stacked in a really confusing question.

The idea is that user should fill data (i. e 5, 6) for different years (i. e 2015) in a table like this:

2015
Enter Pass
Group 1 5 6

Group 2 5 6

Group 3 5 6

What type of question should I use for this to make possible that user fill this data for several years (i.5 2013, 2014, 2015)
Dont really want to repeat the same question 3 times for 3 different years in the same survey

Regards

Well, you need to provide a little bit more of information.

Are the years fixed? Or do the respondents give you the years?

Do they need to fill for all 3 years or could they just fill for 1 or 2?

Are the answer options fixed (e.g. only 5 and 6) or could they insert whatever they want?

Thank you HOLCH for the prompt reply.

The year are fixed in the survey. Respondents need to fill for all 3 years but with the option to enter some default value like 999 if they dont have the answer.

The respondents can insert whatever value they want but only numeric.

Thank you in advance

I'd say Array numeric would be the best choice. You can use one axis with the years and the other with the groups.

For this type of doubts it is always good to consult the manual:
manual.limesurvey.org/Question_types

The images of the question type Array (Numbers) shows two special types. You can actually also have boxes for numbers.

Yes but there is another tricky part :))
Maybe there are groups which respondents know but we dont know.
So he has to add table rows dynamically based on some condition like:
If there any other groups you would like to add please enter their names below otherwise ...

Is this asking too much ..?:(

This is why I asked about it, you didn't mention this part.

This will not be possible out of the box.

I am sure that you can do something with Javascript, but I am not a Javascript wizard.

You could also ask for the groups in a question before and then via a relevance equation show and hide group lines checking if the previous question was filled.

I am not a Javascript wizard too.

So probably I will go for the second option by asking for the groups in a question before.

Can you please show me how is managed this relevance equation in order to show and hide group lines checking if the previous question was filled?
