I am getting: Please fix the following input errors:
Connection with database failed. Please check database location, user name and password and try again.

When running the installation script, any ideas/suggestions when using 1and1 hosting?

Well, the installer uses the following details to establish a connection:
- DB location
- DB user
- DB password
- DB name

Make sure all these are correct. Some providers may use a different DB location than the often used "localhost". Just ask your provider for more details and check their docs.

Thanks!. I looked very closely and decided to try a different username.
By default 1and1 uses dbusername@internal-ip. I took the @internal-ip out and left the username by itself and it worked!

oh . one more thing .. sorry about the cross posting .. I was not sure if the first went through because Chrome stopped responding and crashed.
