Looping - Repeating parts of a survey was created by locuviche
Hi fellows,
this is my first time with this wonderful tool and I have realized that I do not know how to loop a survey.
I would like to repeat a specific segment of the survey, regarding an answer ("how many countries you know").
The survey should repeat a set of questions related to each travel so many times as the number entered previously by the polled. Does anyone know how can I do that?
Thanks to all the LimeSurvey community!

Limesurvey does not have a looping feature out of the box. So you will have to do some workaround. Here some points to start:

manual.limesurvey.org/Workarounds:_Surve...Loop_question.28s.29

manual.limesurvey.org/Expression_Manager#Group-Level_Relevance

Basically the same approach. You will probably have to create as many copies of the question / question group as there could be maximum loops...

Sorry, I didn't get you well. The first link does not work, could you post it again?
Do you suggest, I should repeat the group so many times as I expect it at most?

Just tested it and the first link works just fine. You need to click it in the forum, not in the email you receive. There it won't work as it is shortened.

The solution is to create as many questions / question groups as you expect to have loops (maximum). E.g. if you ask about the children in the household I guess a good compromise between making sure that all familes can enter all family members and the work to copy the questions would be in the western world 10 repetitions I guess.

Then you either ask at the beginning "how man children do you have" and then show the respective number of questions via conditions, or you add the question "would you like to insert another child" to the end of each question group (loop) and if yes you show the next copy of the question group, if no you finish the loop.
