Hi everyone,
(sorry if this has been answered previously).

Can the order of Question Groups be randomized ?
For example I have four question groups:

Group A
Group B
Group C
Group D

We'd like the order the question groups are displayed to be randomized. The questions within a group stay in the same order of display (i.e. the questions within a group are now randomized) but we need the question groups themselves presented in a randomized manner.

We're running 1.92+(120919)

Thanks in advance for any help / suggestions

For 1.92 you can find workarounds in the documentation / forum.

LS 2 has a group randomization feature (currently broken, but might be fixed any day)

It's still broken in Build 121117. How much effort is it to fix the feature? Where in the code can I try to fix it myself?

Has the randomization groups function already been fixed in build130122 ?

Today I couldn't make it work. I wonder if I did something wrong or if the problem still exists?

Thanks a lot for your help!

And have a look to devloppement wiki page:

Think i work on it for 2.1 too.

In current build (20130129) the group randomization feature works, but only for complete groups. The order of questions inside the group stays as defined.

If you want to randomize the order of questions (using advanced attribute randomization group name) you have to wait for the next release.

If you think that group randomization does not work, please add a comment to the bugtracker.

I was wondering if there has been some progress concerning the really cool randomization feature. Currently I'm trying to randomize the order of 3 questions in 3 different groups. Is there a working solution (or workaround) to achieve this? Not sure about the discussion in the bug-tracker: would it work if I change the files manually? And more important: if this bug has been solved, why isn't it in the regular update? :)

The presentation format is group-by-group and the survey looks like this (QA,QB,QC should be randomised)
  • Groups 1-3
  • GroupR1
  • -QA
  • GroupR2
  • -QB
  • GroupR3
  • -QC
  • Groups 4-6

tomscher, to my knowledge there is no feature to randomize the display of 3 questions from different groups.
