TOPIC: Hidden Coding Question / Prefill

Hidden Coding Question / Prefill 3 years 1 month ago #76820

Hi There:

I have one question where the answer is populated based on the answer to the previous question. For example, if the respondent chooses that they are from Northern Kentucky, we know that they are from XYZ company. I have it setup to automatically prefill and it is working. However, I would like it to code in the background (respondent doesn't need to see the question) but when I hide the question, the javascript is not activated and the coding does not happen. Is there a way to prefill the answer to a question in the background?

Try the new Equation question type in version 1.92. It is designed to make it easy to populate a new question based upon answer(s) to previous ones. And, unlike all the other question types, if you use the advanced question option to "always hide" it, it still calculates and gets stored to the database. As you saw, with any other question type, if you "always hide it", nothing gets generated for it, so any custom javascript doesn't get executed.
