Hello,

I'm a new LimeSurvey user and am using it as part of a University course. I know that the software records the time at which emails were sent and the survey was submitted but I'm wondering if there's a way to record (a) the total amount of time spent at the site by a user and/or (b) the time the survey was first accessed by a user. I realize (a) might be tricky, but (b) seems like it should be easy to do.

I've looked into the documentation but the options related to time I found are only related to limiting the amount of time a user can take to respond. Thus any direction to relevant documentation or instructions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

If the survey is NOT anonymous, you can set the "Date stamp" to yes which will give you the start and final action times in the data.

There is a feature to record the time a user spends on a survey or single pages/questions. Have a look at "save timings":
Save timings: If activate then on survey activation a separate table will be created where timings for your questions will be saved, e.g. how long a user stays on one page during taking the survey.
