Hello everybody

First of all, I'm new in this forum and with this software, so hello everybody and thnks in advance!

My question: is it possible to have an user who could create surveys but who couldn't see other users surveys?

I would like to do some like this:

- A global admin creates USER1 and creates a survey base for him: USER1_SURVEY
- USER1 can create surveys, only new or copy of USER1_SURVEY
- Admini creates USER2 with the same procedure, but USER2 couldn't see, create or modify USER1_SURVEY

It is possible?
I've tried a lot of things, once you give "Survey" permisions to any user, he can see all's surveys!

Thanks in advance

Luis R.

Don't give "survey" permissions to the users, but give permissions on the individual survey, that should work.

Thanks!

But... with those permissions they will not be able to create or replicate surveys, no?

Behaviour of LS has recently been modified (release 150310). Take a look at:

bugs.limesurvey.org/view.php?id=9604

You will find an interesting discussion about this changes.

As Aesteban says, there has been a change. I haven't read in detail yet. Not sure why this change was made.

Aesteban, this bug report seems to be private. I can't access it, even logged in.

@luisinko: You should use USER1_SURVEY permission. As admin or USER1, you can grant permissions to USER2 over USER1_SURVEY though USER2 has not global surveys permissions.

@holch: Sorry, you are right. This is private.

Basically, former behaviour was: Every user who has permission to specific survey has to have "surveys" global permission. This wasn't coherent with documentation and got global "surveys" permissions useless. After changes, if you want an user to have permissions on a specific survey you should use this survey permissions. Survey global permission concern all the surveys.

However, new fix is not complete and this issue is not closed.

Thanks, Aesteban

I'm in 150413 version.

Regarding permissions it works like you're saying, one user with no global "Survey" permissions can only see surveys that has been punctually granted. That works.

My concern is about creating or copying surveys, as I can see, only global survey rol users can create and, therefore, see all surveys.

Can one user, without global survey permission, create or copy a survey that has been granted?

Thanks again

Global survey permission:
- Create : create new survey , have all rigths in this survey. Don't have any rigths on other surveys excet if set in survey specific rigth.
- View/read : can view ALL surveys
- Update : can update ALL survey (update all text, token, response ...) but can delete (if have Read access)
- Delete : can delete All surveys (if have Read access)
- Import, export : to be tested , but near same.

Denis
PS: we make CRUD on Global Survey to have more option than before. 2.05 starting are buggy.

Just one correction to one of my previous comments. This changes was releases in version 150413, not in 150310.

Yes, think it is confusing as mentioned in the discussion ongoing in the bug tracker.
Any decision on how to tackle this in the future?
