Array between two adjectives was created by CarolineMarien
Hello,

I was wondering if it is possible to create an array where you have to chose between two adjectives. It would look like this:
simple 3 2 1 0 1 2 3 complex
unique 3 2 1 0 1 2 3 common
stimulating 3 2 1 0 1 2 3 boring

Does anyone know how to create something like this?

Besides being pretty dangerous because the word pairs have to be real opposites, otherwise the results will be nonsense, this is called semantic diferential and can be easily be created in Limesurvey.

Thank you!

I also thought this kind of questioning is pretty dangerous but my professors want to put it in the questionary like that.
Hopefully I can still convince them to use another kind of questioning.

If you have good and prooven answer pairs, this should be fine. But if the pairs are not real opposites, it can be dangerous and it might be better to use one scale and ask you much they agree to this or something and it is less problematic.

However, the technical aspect to create this in LS is pretty simple, as you can see in the link. If the professor insists, LS is ready for his/her request. ;-)

Hi,

I'm also a total newbie with limesurvey. I need to use semantic differencials as well however I don't really understand the manual here:

you can part the answer which should be on the left side from the answer on the right side of the array by using a Pipe Char

I'm using a university-hosted instance of limesurvey (2.00+ Build 130802) and have no clue where to write those answer-texts?
I also read something about the "Array (flexible labels)" type but that doesn't seem to be supported anymore in this version, right?

Thanks,
Hans

The pipe characters go in the y-scale sub-question text:
