Press Release: A prestigious Open Source Award has been won by an internationally developed open source web-based survey application which was originally founded in Australia.
The application named LimeSurvey won the First Prize in the French based Les Trophées du libre award in the category 'Enterprise Management'. The Les Trophées du libre contest is the largest international competition to reward innovative and most promising Free Open Source Software.
LimeSurvey is a software for doing on-line surveys of any kind. The software was described as “great software with a big potential for the future”. The awards are given to OSS projects to promote the projects and its goals.
Carsten Schmitz, the German project leader of LimeSurvey, said “LimeSurvey is downloaded over 7000 times every month and is rapidly becoming a standard survey tool for corporate, public and private users. This Open Source Software is levelling the playing field because with this free software everyone can gain access to customer opinions, independently of language, geography or timezone. This achievement and the development of the software wouldn’t have been possible without the tireless work from developers, translators and contributors around the world. A really huge thank you! to everyone who helped to make the software what it is right now - your efforts made us win today. I am sure this recognition will speed up the ongoing development of this Free Open Source Software.”
