Admin Login Issue!!! was created by OmetepeIslandInfo
I have the most recent community version installed on my server. It has worked perfectly without fail for over 6 months. I logged in as Admin about a week ago without an issue.

I went to log in this week as admin and it just bounces me back to the login screen, I am not getting the admin console anymore!
  • I tried resetting the password, that did not resolve the issue.
  • I even went into the MySQL DB and changed the password, still didn't fix the issue.
  • The surveys are working properly, but I can't get into the ADMIN!
  • I have not changed anything on my host server, unless my Host did without notifying me!

Any Ideas?!?

well that's your problem. You must configure http OR https and connect to the correct URL.

My (soon to be former) host (ipage) had to fix the issue on their end. Something about changing the 'Sessions'. I had both installs configured correctly for http and https, as I said before, they have been working properly for 6-8 with one install on https and the other on http.

Thanks for trying to help!

If what you say is true (and I assume it is) and you did not change anything (not even updating), then the only chance is that your host changed anything. So I would get in touch with them.

A running system doesn't just change behaviour without any changes to the system.

[EDIT: Sorry, somehow I didn't see that there were any answers already]

Sure, it's possible to do, but you must configure correctly your servers, and your installations, and turn off the SSL force mode:

OP can't even get a single installation working. So he should start by reducing the complexity of the problem, then solve the minimal problem, then maybe try to move to a more complex configuration.

Hello

I had the same problem with my web host. The version of LimeSurvey installed is 3.16.0 + 190225. PHP version: 7.2.14. The 'force_ssl' setting is set to 'on' in the database. SSL (https) is enabled and functional for my domain.

I came across this topic during my search for a solution. So I put the solution that allowed me to solve the problem, in case others would see this topic.

In the config.php file, in the 'components' section, add the following lines:
Code:
        // Set the domain for cookie
        'session' => array (
            'cookieParams' => array(
                    'domain' => '.mydomain.org',
                ),
            ),

Of course change "mydomain.org" for your domain, but let the '.' ahead!

Also in the config.php file, find:
Code:
            'showScriptName' => true,

And replace with:
Code:
            'showScriptName' => false,

That's what worked for me, hoping it helps.

Without changing anything in LimeSurvey, just after the installation, the 'index.php' already disappears from the url. So I wonder if it should not change this default setting 'showScriptName' in the config.php file.
