Installation issue - "function.mkdir" - Permission denied

Hey,
I'm trying to install LimeSurvey 2.06 on our server, but everytime I try to access mydomain.com/limesurvey/admin/ I get an Internal Server Error
<a href='function.mkdir'>function.mkdir</a>]: Permission denied. I set the rights of all relevant folder to 755, so I think that scripts are not allowed to create folders on the server - something that the admins are not allowed to change.
Is there any other way I can install it (like to create the needed directories manually)?
Thanks!

755 is read only (and execution).
You should try 766 or 777

HI,

mkdir is used a lot in limesurvey and other web tool. To create cahe directory, assets directory etc ....

You have to see with your hoster for this.
Actually : you can try to set debug at 2 (to disable assets system) and see f you can create dir manually (set 777 for permission to start).
