Alignment of text for radio buttons was created by pollitschka
Hello,

We made a list with radio buttons, but the formatting turned out weird. The template introduced breaks between the radio button and the text whenever the text is longer than one line (see attached screenshot). How can I edit the template to have the text in the same line as the radio button?

In addition I'd like to increase the space between the different answer options.

Thank you for your feedback!

Cheers,

Hi, pollitschka,

1. In this branch of LimeSurvey (2.50/2.73) there is no template called "standard".
There are "default", "news-paper" and "ubuntu-orange" shipped with LS.

Here is a screenshot of version 2.73 (I don't have an older one) and template "default".

So, obviously you use a customized template.
By the way: Do you have access to the template editor? Or do you use any kind of university installation?

On the other side, your used version is the very first of this branch and four years old.
If possible you should consider to update, at least to the last version of the 3.x. branch, which seems to be the stablest at the moment, while the new 4.x. still suffers of a few bugs.

Thanks for your reply, Joffm! You are right, it's of course not "standard", but "default"... still I don't get the same nice layout as you with our version (yes, quite old, and yes, research instition licence...). So I guess it might just be an error in the older LimeSurvey Version

That is what I think.

You should really update (in my opinion the first ten releases of a new branch are still buggy - even if called "stable" )
If you have a look at the cange logs, that start here for your 2.50 version
www.limesurvey.org/about-limesurvey/update-log?start=210
you will see that nearly each day there was a new version released.

And here is something that might affect your issue.
2.50+ build 160407 & 2.50+ build 160411
-Fixed issue #10844: Various issues using the LS 2.50 default template
(but only if your question looks fine in other templates.)

If you have a lot of customized templates, it will be some work to update to 3.22 LTS, because the template structure changed from 2.50/2.73 to 3.x.

The latest release of the 2.50 branch you get here
www.limesurvey.org/lts-releases-download...24-archived-releases
limesurvey2.73.1-build171220.zip

And the latest 3.x here in the download section.

I find it difficult trying to align my answer choice to the List (radio) question type when i increase the font size.

I have tried to apply some of the solutions posted here but it only increases the line height of the answer choices or moves the position of the radio buttons further further up or down.

Thanks Joffm.

I added this custom CSS

.radio-item {
padding-bottom: 30px;
}

to achieve this;

I am most grateful !
