I bag your pardon if this is not the correct location for my question.
I think limesurvey is a very good package, but it lacks a good report generator. In adition I think the export opportunities to spss or R are less than perfect. Wouldn't it be nice of it were possible to have a direct link from limesurvey surveys to R, and to generate (html and msword) reports on the fly, including graphics and advances statistics? And even to do this from within limesurvey (at the last page of the survey)?
All this is possible, using R (and some R extensions). An example of such a report (in dutch) is www.dpvragenlijst.nl/report/report.r?q=2...d=931811&output=brew It is also possible to get an overview of responses in this way (see www.dpvragenlijst.nl/inzetbaarheid.brw ) .
I have written a paper on this topic. I plan to distribute it, but first I would like to have some discussion on it. If you want to read and comment it, please send me your email adress. You can have it freely, just promise to delete it if a next version of it is available.

Hi like to know R to do some real Report, it's a real pleasure to read you.

And think with R, LimeSurvey don't need a report tool.

2 question :
- Did you think you do the paper in english ?
- What is the planned licence of your paper ? (If it's a free licence, i can translate it in French)

Hi,
The paper is in English.
I plan to distribute it licence-free. But it is a concept. That is why I distribute this version only to people who ask for it. But of cause I have more tricks than are mentioned in the paper.

Hi Frans,
Is your proposition still valid ? Just let me know :) because I want/have to switch from SPSS to R and I'm collecting resources about how to have a good start...

Thank you
Ben-

Replied by fransmarcelissen on topic limesurvey and r
Hi Ben,
The paper is outdated, it is now much more simple to read data into R (with rpc2) and to generate reports than it was in that time. In the near future I plan to write a new paper about this topic. But if you need some help you can always ask me. And indeed: the connection between limesurvey and R is much better than with spss (even though the export module from limesurvey to r is the same crap as to spss).
