Is there a method to change the "Previous" and "Next" buttons to a universal default, rather than the localized values? My customer wants to use "<<<" and ">>>" to indicate previous and next, respectively.

Your customer is a … d…b …

No accessibility, unclear : what is lesser lesser lesser …

Else : it's easy : extend theme, look at navigation, edit navigator.twig file.

Have a look here:

You may adapt it to the "next" button.

Thanks for the help guys! I will look into both those methods. Editing the twig template seems like a good way to get this done.

Sometimes the customer wants things that don't make sense... in this case they are just trying to avoid disagreements or extra work on various translations and simplify/standardize across languages.

Hi, bmdavis,
Denis' hint is much better.
In "navigator.twig" you only have to change
{{ gT("Previous") }} to "< < <"
{{ gT("Next") }} resp. {{ gT("Submit") }} to "> > >".

And in my opinion you should add a "style='font-weight:bold';" to make it look better.

Best regards

Thanks Joffm, I did the twig edit exactly as you described and it worked. I also like your suggestion to make the text bold.

Maybe , but I think it's also my role as a provider to give good accessibility and usability tips.

But,
In what language Previous and Next are not translated ?

Else
Code:
{{ gT("Previous") }}
to
Code:
<span class="sr-only">{{ gT("Previous") }}</span><i class="fa fa-angle-double-left fa-3" aria-hidden="true"></i>

If you look at your browser navigation, do you see <- -> or text, to navigate to the previous or next page?

I still see a purpose for "<" ">" navigation labels (combined with tags with explain the purpose for accessibility).
