Possible to autopopulate a drop down list based on another question was created by derek_001
Hi,
I have the following situation:
Question1 on Page 1,
Question2 on Page 2,
Question1 is a short free text input, Question2 is a drop down list.
What I am trying to achieve is, auto-populate Question2 and make that read only (so user can't amend) based on text entered for Question1.
Example, enter 'ABCD' for Q1, and the third entry is auto-selected for Q2.
(N.B. Question2 already has a 'Relevance Equation' populated)
Thanks in advance

Volunteers are not paid.
Not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless

Hi,
if I understood right, just enter as one answer option of Question2: {Question1}
and set this option as default answer.
Or what do you mean by

Hi Joffm,
I think my original question is a little hard to understand. Currently my survey works like this:
Question 1 - 'enter a postcode' (short text entry)
Question 2 - 'pick a city' (drop down list of cities, e.g London/Paris/Manchester etc)
What I am trying to do is, after Q1 is answered, Q2 is already selected. Is it possible to do this? I may need to store the postcodes with each city somewhere for Q2 (e.g SW12 - London, MEN12 - Manchester) etc
Hope this makes more sense,
Many thanks

The problem of this post is similar.
Dropdown options visible depending on ATTRIBUTE.
But maybe you can get some ideas.

There is a sample survey attached.
