Tooltip in LimeSurvey 2.5+ was created by Dennis
Hi, how to use a tooltip (text appearing with a mouseover) in the new LimeSurvey 2.5 default theme?
Previous solutions described work only on the non-responsive old themes.

Thanks!

Since you mention the plugins shipped with Bootstrap is LimeSurvey offering only a selection?
I tried to use popovers, which seem not working out of the box (which is the case with tooltips)
getbootstrap.com/javascript/#popovers

I tried them both on demo.limesurvey.org today again.

getbootstrap.com/javascript/#popovers

For performance reasons, the Tooltip and Popover data-apis are opt-in, meaning you must initialize them yourself.

One way to initialize all popovers on a page would be to select them by their data-bs-toggle attribute:

Code:
$(function () {
  $('[data-bs-toggle="popover"]').popover()
})

Thanks for pointing that out.I didn't initialized anything and still got Tooltip working. So it seems already initialized somewhere in the code (at least at demo.limesurvey.org).

Popover was not initialized. Sorry for not checking that, was fooled by the working tooltip.

If you are looking for additional information about using Bootstrap tooltips at a Limesurvey survey: We have just written a lengthy blog post about this topic, how to customize the Bootstrap tooltips and which additional options there are available.

Have a look at " How to use Bootstrap tooltips at a Limesurvey survey ".

There is also a sample survey available .
