So I have been using limesurvey and have loved it so far. However I am now getting reports that questions are linking to other peoples surveys. (the action: select Q group, select Question -> redirects to another survey not by that user). After some investigation it looks like limesurvey has been reusing ID's twice (please see screenshot below of qid table).

Is this something I have let happen from MySQL's side of things or is this a problem with the way limesurvey handles its id's?

(FYI I am a noob to this forum and I did have a browse and could not find an issue like this)

Can you please post a screen shot of all columns (SELECT * FROM...)

Which specific columns you need to diagnose this problem? I do not want to post all 4000+ rows with question data.

10-15 rows like before is fine, I just want to check the values at additional columns.

There are no duplicate IDs. The key for that table consists of the qid AND the language because at multilingual surveys there are different question texts for different languages but they are using the same QID.

Your problem sounds like a cache or session issue.
- Do you use a proxy?
- Which Limesurvey version do you use?
- Can you safely reproduce the issue?

We don't use a proxy, version is: 2.05, I can reproduce the issue safely.

So in the web interface I select:
sid 319258
select qid 1238
select qid 7
which shows:
sid 734529
gid 87
qid 7

and the two offending lines are (attached)

This indeed looks like a bug. Having the same GID for different surveys (SID) should NOT happen. There once was an issue at older 2.0/2.05 systems.
You may be able to solve this by export the survey, updating to the latest Limesurvey version and then re-importing the files. The IDs should be adjusted then and you can remove the old versions.
