Slider initial value "0" problem was created by JeffNevington
When setting an initial value of "0" for a slider, it doesn't seem to register.

For example I have two sliders in one mandatory question,
The sum of both sliders must add up to 10.
The minimum is 0 and the maximum is 10 in increments of 1.
If the user drags both sliders to 5, and presses "next" all is fine, however, if the user drags only one slider to 10 and leaves the other untouched, the user is instructed to complete the question.

I noticed this only seems to be a problem with the "0" initial value, for example if I set the initial value to 1, the number "1" appears above the slider upon loading. If I then only touch one slider, dragging to 9, making the sum 10 and click "next" all is fine.

If I set the initial value to "0", nothing appears above the slider until it is clicked. The user may drag it up and down and re-set to 0, then it allows the user to continue, but they cannot leave it un-touched.

Am I missing something? Does anyone have an example of this working with a "0" initial value?

Hi,

What is your LimeSurvey version ?
Maybe you can report the bug if it's the last version.

I can confirm this is still bugged.

The slider cannot handle a 0 initial value, for whatever reason.

This is happening in the latest version.

If that's the case, please file a bug report.

Hey there,
does anybody know if there's still no solution for this problem?
The miminum of my slider is -100 and the max +100. So of course I want the slider to start at 0.
I tried the option "sliders start at the middle position" and "slider initial value" = 0 but my slider always starts at 5.
Are there any workarounds?

This comment indicates a bugfix: bugs.limesurvey.org/view.php?id=13302#c50886

The dates indicate that the current release of LS doesn't contain a fix.

At the moment I do not see this issue.
Neither in version 2.73.1

nor in version 3.16.0.

That's interesting... I'm using version 3.13.2 and the slider always starts at 5. When i set initial value for example at 50, the slider starts (without any problems) at 50. But when I set initial value at 0, it always starts at 5.
