Hello,

I've been searching for the answer to my following question for some time now, so I decided to ask here.

I need to put answers from previous questions to array(numbers) matrix x-axis, situation:

question1: please name one brand
type: text (short free text)
result: brand1

question2: please name few more brands
type: text (short free text)
result: named-brand1, named-brand2

question3: please select brands that you know (from 10 brands)
type: multiple choice question
result / selected brands: selected-brand1, selected-brand2, selected-brand3

Next, I need that first mentioned brands brand1, named-brand1 and selected-brand1 appear in array(numbers) x-axis and table should look like this:

____________________|__brand1__|__named-brand1__|__selected-brand1__|
evaluation-criteria1 |
evaluation-criteria2 |
evaluation-criteria3 |

evaluation-criteria is evaluated by numbers from 1 to 6.

How do I put answers from previous questions to matrix x-axis? Is it possible? Could you please explain using my example?

I'm using limesurvey online tool version 3.15.5

Thanks.

Have a look at the Expression Manager documentation and search for "tailoring".

But watch out, as you are using open ended questions in your survey, brands might be there duplicated (in the open ends and marked in the list) and how do you choose the brand from the multiple choice question, if there have been marked more than one?

While technically possible, I think the question design has a few flaws.

I answer at the LimeSurvey forum in my spare time, I'm not a LimeSurvey GmbH employee.

Hello there,

Could you please collaborate on your question: " how do you choose the brand from the multiple choice question, if there have been marked more than one?"

I was hoping that some javascript magic would help me, but now I'm asking myself if it's possible to select "first selected" answer from multiple choice questions when there are more than one selected answer and how to approach it?
