I can't seem to find a way to change the password for other users or other administrators on the limesurvey application. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Take a look at Configuration / Users -> Manage survey admins.

Click the pencil icon to edit every user account. There should be a field to change the password.

Scroll a bit in the manual around that part.

There are a few screenshots to show what I mean.

This brings up only the Username, Fullname and email for the admin. No place to change password.
Thanks for your help.

I'm using Version 3.7.0+180418.
Should admin be able to change any user? or does each user have to change their own password?
This is what I see:

Hi,
that's the same version which I showed.
So maybe there is a permission problem.

On the other side I was very surprised that such a thing is possible: That a admin can change passwords of other users.
With the consequence that the password is no longer a password.

IMHO only a user itself should be able to change his password.

I suspect that the admin should be able to change a password just in case the user forgets their password or the like. I suppose that if there is a "Forgot your password?" at the login page, then it is not necessary. Just wonder why your page shows password and mine does not. When you mention permissions, are speaking of permissions internal to the program or linux permissions?
Thx.

Why? The super-admin can change the password. What would improve if the super-admin cannot change the user password anymore?

The super-admin would still need to be able to delete and create an account, right? I don't see any impact on security. The data is seen by the superadmin.

There are plans to improve the user-permission concept in LS 4.0.

I really miss an option to prevent sending the password via email. And an option to enforce the user to change of password during login.

Permission settings inside LimeSurvey.

Add a new user to check out if that user is showing the field to change the password.

Never used it, so is LS sending directly sending a new password or just a link to change password.
I see such functions as a security risk. The access to an emailaccount leads directly to hell.
I forget as featurerequest: Allow to deactivate "Forgot your password account-wise and global".
