Where do I found newest 2.x version of LimeSurvey? Currently download-page shows only versions of 3.x -serie.

I can NOT recommend to make new installations with LS 2.x because these versions do not receive updates or bug fixes anymore.

But have a look, someone posted the link to the latest LS 2.x version just recently. But, be aware that there is no support anymore for these versions.

OK, but I read that version 2 can not be automatically upgraded to version 3.

Slightly baffled now... I have only four survey running, but they all have some quite complicated questions.

Correct, no upgrade via Comfortupdate at the moment.

Stay at your current version (maybe update to last version available in that branch).
And install an additional LS 3 version to check your current survey. Workarounds and themes mostly need an update.
