Trying to get number of participants returns 0

Trying to get number of participants returns 0 was created by cacorns
I'm extending Remote Control using the plugin Extend Remote Control .

I need to get participants information, but when trying to call
Code:
Partipant::model()->count()
, for example, this returns 0. What I can't understand is that I can instantiate Participant, only cannot retrieve any Participant information.

I'm not used to Yii framework. Am I missing something?

You have participant in Central Participant Database ?
