Editing Group-Level Relevance to display groups was created by Teaymey_208575
Hello !

I'm using LimeSurvey Version 3.15.6.

In my design, I have several groups of questions, and in each group, there 1 question they have to answer. People have to respond to each question (see attached) to get to answer to the next group.

I added the question "list(radio)" with one option

- I activated "other" and changed it to "I write the number"
- "I don't remember"

I also changed the order so the "other" question would be presented first in the list.

So the logic would be

if "I write the number" is chosen -> next group would be presented
if "i don't remember" is chosen -> go to the end (or to another group)

I tried changing the group relevance in my 2nd group depending on the answer to the last question of the first group but it doesn't work.

You can see in attachment the logic for my first group. When trying to add on the second group "relevance"
Response1==1

it doesn't display the second group anymore ignoring all of my responses.

I would like to know if there is a specific way to enter the group relevance when using a "list(radio)" in the way I do ?

Thanks in advance !

Ps, I also attached an example of my survey

Hi,

I tried changing the group relevance in my 2nd group depending on the answer to the last question of the first group but it doesn't work.

No, you did not. ;)

If you do not know how data are stored, you should always activate the survey and enter some well defined data.
You see this:

So, if you want to display the next group after the respondent entered a number, you may either say:
!is_empty(Response1_other)
or you use the answer to Response1:
Response1=="-oth-"

I have no idea what you are trying to do and what the timers are used for, but beware:
If you do not display the second group, Response2 will be empty and the third group isn't displayed as well.
You have to avoid this cascading issue - if you want.

BUT:
Why don't you use a numerical input with the plugin "CheckBoxForText"?

And:
Your survey was limited by your cookie setting
and had an empty group, so could not be activated.

I know I didn't haha, sorry I'm new to LimeSurvey.

For the timer, it's actually a memory task; people see numbers and try to enter them. So yes, after they say "I don't remember" the other groups shouldn't be presented (because it increases in difficulty, first 2, 3 then 4 numbers and so on).

For the numerical input, in version 3 you can add it directly to the question :) So I did.

The only problem I have is if after the memory task I want to ask other questions (to add another group) you are saying that there is no way to avoid going to the end of the survey ?

Thanks again for your help !
Natalia.

No,no, if there is a group at the end that is displayed to anybody, it's just a group without any relevance equation.
No problem.
