I need to re-initiate a survey under a specific survey id. The reason is that I absolutely must reuse the url of a previous survey. How can I do/ hack this?

It is very important. Please help.

You can assign a certain ID via copy and import.

Great idea Jelo. But will this work if the ID was given to another survey before? If the survey still exists I am sure it won't, but what if the survey has been deleted, then it would work?

You need a free weekend without market research and without LimeSurvey ;-)

If a survey is already using the ID, you cannot share it with another survey.
If the ID is not used, you can use the ID. Doesn't matter if it was used before.

In the old days, where no copy function was available, we just modified the LSS export and replaced the IDs via a text-editor. That way you still can control which ID is used as survey id (as long as it is available). The survey id can be found in the <sid><![CDATA[12345]]></sid> tags.

Only a few hours left.

This is what I said.

Good to know. Sometimes applications reserve IDs like this and you can NOT use them again, which is why I asked. As I never had to do this, I have no experience how this works in LS. Good to know that it will work, as long as no other survey is currently using the same ID.

Yepp, but Captain Obvious.

Since LimeSurvey is lack a of real review mode, keeping the ID static is not seldom the case.
You need to activate to check, you need to deactivate to change. If you have different reviewers you always need more than one copy.

To modify the URL without relation to the surveyid will be a another idea.

Yepp, but Captain Obvious.

Correct, but I wanted to avoid stupid questions / answers about exactly this topic. You managed to put it anyway... ;-)
