We recently found several users that complained that they could not click the link in their registration mail, when wanting to do that on their mobile phone (iPhone).

We found out that somehow the gmail-app on iPhones added something to the link, so it looked like:

while it should look like:

<a href="https://[domain/index.php/survey/index/sid/222222/token/[token]/lang/nl-informal"> https://[domain/index.php/survey/index/sid/222222/token/[token]/lang/nl-informal</a>

Our workaround:
In the mail template we changed
{SURVEYURL}<br />

to:
<a name="link">{SURVEYURL}</a><br />

thereby "fooling" the gmail app a bit, but at least the link is clickable now.

Has anyone seen this behaviour in iPhones? What was your workaround? Or is it something we should ask the developer of LS to change? If so: how"? What can they do about this?

There was a post in the German section about people complaining about the surveylink.

The URL was https:\/\/domain.tld/\/index.php/....
So additional \ for every /. Might be a different issue. Invitation mail here and registration mail in your case. Haven't checked the codebase for change in that area.

I have no information about the emailclients that were used. The mailproviders involved have a userbase which accesses email via webbrowser quite often.

BTW: What version/build of LimeSurvey is used?

Yes, tried that (just now). Mail ended in Spam, but link was clickable.

Strangely enough: after forwarding it to another account, the link was not clickable anymore, the whole relation to any link for the survey had disappeared.

It's a reason why a lot of 'marketing email' use

If you can't access to the link , please copy/paste in you browser example.org

Goof idea for a plugin

I am the guy with the \/\/ problem. I think just the mails send by sendmailcron has this problem. I think i solved it.
In the settings i changed the "host info for url" from https:// in www and the "scriptUrl" from /index.php in index.php.

But yes : in fact Yii add himself the http(s) , then : best is to disallow/fix/remove the http:// or https://
