I've made a survey to nominate students in a school election. It consists of 6 arrays containing a total of 3100 names. I'm having trouble with the reporting. Since large numbers of students receive no votes I need a way to filter them out of the final results. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can do this?

Are you referring to the online reporting? Because usually this is not for analysis, but just a first glance. You should do the real reporting in a different software that is made for this. LS is rather a data collection than a data analysis tool.

I've tried exporting the answers out to excel but its not showing any of the selections from the array. Any idea why that might be?

No, no idea without seeing the structure of your survey.

What kind of array?
Subquestions, answer options.

Can't be a "normal" array with names as subquestions. That would exceed the MySQL column limit.

Joffm

Are your answers shown in the answer table?
Did you try to export to other formats, like *.csv or SPSS?
The SPSS *.dat file is a text file you can explore with a simple text editor.

I've tried but without any luck. The answers total 3100 but on each question they vary from around 700 to 953. Any export I run shows no answers. I can see them under "statistics" but I lack any way to sort them. I'd be happy to send a copy of my survey if that would help.

Hmmm, the export shows no answers? That sounds strange? What version of LS are you using and how are you trying to export the answers?

Version 4.0.1+200120

The answers start at line 24740 apparently. I'm exporting by going to the survey and going to "Display/Export"

The answers start at line 24740 apparently. I'm exporting by going to the survey and going to "Display/Export"

this exports the survey structure aka the questionnaire, but not the answers given by respondents. You need to go to "respondents" to export results to CSV, Excel or SPSS when you want to get the results of your survey.

So now I am a little confused what we are talking about here.
