Replicate field was created by nibos
Hi there, I have a questionnaire and I have e.g. e text field. I want the user with a button or somehow to replicate the specific field in order to enter other value. Example I have a field called "city" and I want for the user to have option to enter more than one cities but not predefined number of cities. So there should be an option to replicate the field.
Is it possible?
Thank you.

LimeSurvey is not offering such a functionality out of the box.
There might be workarounds by others.
You should post the version of LimeSurvey you use.
Perhaps someone can offer a workaround for the version.

Hi,
something like this?
Use multiple short text with subquestion relevance, e.g.
SQ002: !is_empty(Q1_SQ001)
SQ003: !is_empty(Q1_SQ002)
Always show the next field, if there was something entered.
But you have to create as much subquestions as you expect the maximum answers.
As Jelo said: there is no dynamic option. The database table is created when you activate the survey.
IMO this is the easy version.
There is a work around where you can use a button.
www.limesurvey.org/forum/can-i-do-this-w...able-length-question
This example is a bit different, and for version 2.50/2.73.
But it may give you an idea,
And as long as you do not tell us the version you are using, ...
Best regards
Joffm

My version is:Version 2.05+ Build 140404.
Also, on my version how and where should I edit the subquestions relevance in order to put e.g. SQ002: !is_empty(Q1_SQ001)

You're version is not offering subquestion relevance. That was introduced with 2.06+.150612.nibos wrote: Also, on my version how and where should I edit the subquestions relevance

Hi,
I'm not sure if in your stone age version there is subquestion relevance.
Check the manual.
Here a screenshot in Version 2.06+ Build 160129.
If you do not see the "R": Consider an update or redesign your survey.
E.g. if you display in "group by group" mode (what is always advisable) you can have several questions of short text; and you set the relevance on the questions.

If you have control over the installation: an update is generally no big deal within the same branch. If you update to the latest version of your branch, which should be something like 2.06 LTS, then you should be able to use the subquestion relevance, like Jelo highlighted. You should update anyway! Your version is really old and there have been several bug fixes and security updates since then.
Upgrade to the next branch (2.7x) or the latest branch (3.x) might have stronger impacts. At least on custom templates.

Thank you. I will try. Is it safe and reliable with the comfortupdate?

I have never had problems with the comfort update within one branch. I have never tried to upgrade to another branch via comfort update, I always create a new installation. But from your version to the latest 2.06 LTS version upgrade should be no problem.
but if you have important stuff running at the moment, I would create a copy of your current installation and give the upgrade a try, then, when everything looks smooth I would upgrade on the production server.
