I need some help with creating my survey
For my survey, i need participants to enter a personal code that they already have. This is done because I want to link data with the answers on this survey. It would therefore also be critical that people are unable to enter a duplicate code/misspel their code. Is this possible with Limesurvey?

Yes, this is possible. It is called "tokens" at Limesurvey: manual.limesurvey.org/Tokens

Yes that is possible with LimeSurvey.
Actually the whole personal code generation can be taken over by Limesurvey.
After you have created a survey, you can add participants (even empty participants, with just the token) and then assign tokens to these. You can either add your own tokens, or let the software generate them for you.
With these tokens in place they can not be used twice, or misidentified, because they will always be unique for the survey.

Thank you for your help. I managed to upload my own tokens by using a .cvs file. However I am having trouble finding out how to let participants fill in their own token. Basically, I am providing participants with a token (code), they use this code for an experiment and I want them to use it for my survey aswell. I want to send all of them the same link to the survey by e-mail (not through limesurvey itself) and let them enter their own personal code as verification. Also, if the code is wrong or already used, they cannot participate in the survey. How can I do this? Thank you for you time and if anything is unclear, please ask.

Did you test it?

If you activate tokens and go to the survey URL without the token appended, you will be presented with a screen where you can enter the token.

If the survey is with closed access, you can :

1.) Provide a link with the token
Participants can enter the survey without entering the token.
It's done automatically.
What format of URL link is accepted depends on the webserver settings.
E.g myserver.tld/853399/token/PXMEK9OzMrqlHry/
URL: yourdomain.tld/SID_of_your_survey/token/PERSONALCODE

2.) Provide a generic link and the token.
If participants visit link they are asked to enter their token.
