Strange thing happened:

Limesurvey was running just fine until recently.

Nowadays I get this error message:

Fatal error: Call to a member function MetaTables() on a non-object in /www/htdocs/w0057ac6/www.gregman.de/limesurvey/common.php on line 1577

I also tried to reupload the files of the latest version and to reinstall it. But I won't even get to the installer. Same error message when trying to access:

www.gregman.de/limesurvey/admin/install/

My PHP Version is 5.2.10 and as I said before: It already WAS running just fine on my server. Don't know what killed it.

Do you have any clue??

I guess that some changes to the database were done (by your provider?).
The MetaTables() function checks if the DB is empty.
Not being able to run the install script leads me to the presumption that DB name/username/password might have been changed?!

I guess it really has something to do with the database. But I didn't change the password, neither did my provider.

I can't do any more tests right now, since I'm not on my computer.

Let me check new things next week and if I can't get it to work, I'll post a new reply.

Well, someone must have changed something...

But who and what is the question.

The username and the password is correct. I checked it several times and also used a wrong username, where I of course get a "Can't connect to LimeSurvey database. Reason: Access denied for user 'username'@'localhost' (using password: YES)" message.

So okay, maybe something is changed with the database. But why won't it let me install a new clean version?

Is mySQL Version 4.1.21 reported to work with Limesurvey?

According to the installation instruction MySQL 4.1 is needed so it should work.

Please contact your provider, I guess they changed someting in the background.
