Hello,
I would like to check if it is possible to run LimeSurvey on PDAs. Can you please specfy the specifications that a PDA will need to run LimeSurvey software?
Thanks!

Good question. At the current 1.71 version you can edit the templates but I'm not sure if you can edit it the way that it runs on PDAs. Just give it a try. I recommend to edit the bubblegum template because it's mostly CSS based.
Brain, will there be something like a certain CSS design for PDAs at Limesurvey 2.0

The layout design will influence the usability of a survey, but I think the critical requirements relate to the browser on the device and its javascript capabilities. I did a demo of LS with a very simple survey and an audience member completed it on a cellphone. He said radio buttons didn't line up too well - probably in arrays - but it was manageable. That's where layout would help. OTOH, a colleague tested a fairly complex survey for me, and groups of conditional questions (also with INSERTANS useage) failed to display. Admittedly that's on an older LS version, but that was broken as opposed to awkward.
Regards.

Thaks for sharing your experience, ITEd.
In general: Do you think there are many people who wish to fill out surveys using cell phone or PDA?
Due to the CSS based layout of LS2.0 it shouldn't be that hard to create a PDA/cell phone style but the designers probably can better judge this.

I understand that there could be some problems with the layout design. Its good to hear they should not be much of a problem in the next version of Limesurvey.
ITEd: did the cellphone/PDA on which you used Limesurvey had particluar specifications? Do you think it will run on a PDA that has Windows Mobile 6?
Thanks

Hello,
I've just finnished a survey on a PDA. I found the following problems:
- my study had 60 min and I received Session Expired Error. I resolved that by increasing session.gc_maxlifetime to 65000 seconds on my local server. In index.php I commented line 24 @ini_set(session.gc_maxlifetime, $sessionlifetime);
- I used tokens. When a survey was completed it remained incomplete. Can anyone tell me how to resolve this problem?
The template worked very well.
King regards,

Good question. We too intend to use it on a survey that lasts around 60 minutes.
andreibogdan: what specifications did the PDA had, so that you were able to use Limesurvey please?
We're currently deciding which PDA to choose.
Thanks

Hi,
Thank you very much. I do have an HP IPAQ 114 in hand on which i can try Limesuvey. I would really appreciate if you can tell me the procedure you used to install and use Limesurvey on the PDA.
We did manage to install and use Limsurvey on a PC and it worked perfectly, however we do not know what we should do to use Limesurvey on a PDA.
Thank you for your help!
