I just bit the bullet and uninstalled v1.7 using Simple Scripts.

I then downloaded v1.71 and installed manually.

Would you believe it the same message

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator,  Cet e-mail est protégé contre les robots collecteurs de mails, votre navigateur doit accepter le Javascript pour le voir  and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.


This is starting to get repetitive.

Hi Guys

I'm still struggling with this but have found some messages in the error logs, do these mean anything

1.
[error] [client 80.229.139.127] SoftException in Application.cpp:544: Directory "/home/tribuyco/public_html/votecarrot/lime/limesurvey/tmp" is writeable by group, referer: votecarrot.com/lime/limesurvey/admin/admin.php?action=templates

2.
[error] [client 80.229.139.127] Premature end of script headers: template_temp_081004034222.html, referer: votecarrot.com/lime/limesurvey/admin/admin.php?action=templates

3.
[error] [client 80.229.139.127] File does not exist: /home/tribuyco/public_html/votecarrot/500.shtml, referer: votecarrot.com/lime/limesurvey/admin/admin.php?action=templates

I created a 500.shtml document in the root of my site. I simply put "500 error" into it. When I run the template editor now I see "500 error" in the preview window.

I'm assuming this is an Apache problem. Could someone post a working http.conf or .htaccess file so I can compare it with mine.

Any other thoughts appreciated.

Sounds like a permission problem of some directories - check the permissions of your /tmp- and your /temp-folder!

You should find informations about it in the forum and in our WIKI.

tmp folder permissions was/is 777.

Unfortunately I can't afford any more time to get this working.

Even though I like the product I'll have to try another.

I would like to thank all those that tried to help me fix this.
