Can nog access survey more than one time 1 Month, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Hello,

I have been a long time user of LimeSurvey, since PHPsurveyor days...

Today I installed the latest version of LimeSurvey on our PHP/MySQL server and set up a survey.

The survey is not anonymous. I have activated the survey and sent the invite to a test person (me). I get the email and click on the link to do the server and it works 100% as before.

So I decide to test it again on the same computer, so I make a new test user (remove the old token) with the same email again.

Yes I get the mail but when I click on the link I get a note that the survey is a closed survey and I need a token to access it. I have a token in my queryline so I make a refresh on the page by pressing F5, now LimeSurvey tells me that I have already answered the survey and asks me if I want to close window. Happens the same a third (and fourth etc time).

So I test it out on my server instead, and there I can log in to the survey. But if I try to log in a second time with a new testuser I can not.

Anyone know what the problem is? My cookies are turned off.

Thanks in advance!

Did you try to clean your browser cache?

What does the token table look like? Are the tokens marked as "used" e.g. completed is set to "Y"?

Hi,

Thank you for your response.

I cant remember what I did, I think I played with some options or maybe started and stopped the survey again, and now it works perfect!

I did clean my cache too, but only on my workstation, not on my server where the same problem happened so I am unsure if it was because of the cache.

Yes the completed surveys got a "Y".

Going to test it again now, if error happens I will let you all know

Update:

I sent an invitation to my wifes computer, first time she can do the survey fine, if I invite her again and she clicks link in email she goes directly to the "finished"-page of Limesurvey and DB register that she has done the survey (with nothing registered even though all questions are mandatory).

Update 2:

If I close the browser between logging in the second time, it works.

Update 4:

Ok, now I have tested more. The problem appears when I have submitted a survey and open a new survey as another token in the same browser (even if I have closed down the previous survey tab). It has been tested on four computers and in IE7 and Firefox, the same problem appears.

The survey must go out in 20 minutes from now, I guess most people are using different computers but probably someone is going to get this error and the one who is going to get blamed is me so if anyone has got any idea about how to fix this, PLEASE share now! Thank you in advance!

I think there is a survey setting like "use cookies". Turning this off might solve the problem. Another solution can be to add "&newtest=Y to the URL which leads a user to the survey.

Hi again,

Cookies have been disabled all the time (in survey settings).

I tried that querystring earlier today but it does not do any difference.

I have the same issue, I have a computer that will be used by multiple users in an anonymous fashion. So the same survey will be completed from the same computer. However - unless I clear the cache on the computer each time. I am not able to access the survey. Clearing the cookie from the browser allows me to access the survey. Is there any way to clear the cookie when the survey is completed?

I solved it by installing an older version of LimeSurvey which do not have these problems, however my latest survey is running on the new one, hopefully no important people will complain

@konmanos, do you think there is a bug? Having adviced limesurvey to not use cookies but nevertheless there seems to be an access restriction because of cookies lets me think so.
Can you confirm this behavior (limesurvey uses cookies although it shouldn't?)?

@erkan: Can you test if the survey works fine with the old version when setting cookies off? Does it restrict access when turning cookies on?

Hi all,

Maybe this will help a little...

I seem to have a similar problem, I can only do the survey with a new token on the same computer if I delete the PHPSESSID cookie that gets created when I access the survey with the first token.

I keep reproducing it all the time despite changing settings in the survey. Currently, my settings are:
Allow saves? : No
Show [<< Prev] button : Yes
Participants may print answers? : No
List survey publicly: : No
Expires? : No
Expiry date : blank (but LS created "1980-01-01"
Use Cookies : No
Allow Public Registration : No
Anonymous answers? : No
Date stamp? : Yes
Save IP address? : Yes
Save referring URL? : Yes
Enable Token-based answers persistence? : No

... and it still doesn't work, even after I close the window which should destroy the session...

My install:
LS: v1.71+
Server: XAMPP, currently testing locally

My computer:
Win XP / Firefox 3.01 => can easily visualise cookies as they are created.

The last PHPSESSID cookie shows:
Name: PHPSESSID
Content: 4b0356db09f23384f39ce8cb0207649a
Host: localhost
Path: /
Send for: Any type of connection
Expires: at end of session

I hope this helps!
