Any way to skip a mandatory question? 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Is here any way to let users skip a mandatory question if they really do not want to answer the question?

I really want users to answer the mandatory question first. But if they really do not want to, is it possible to let users skip it after the first try? For example, add a new option to the question, like "I do not want to answer".

Thanks a lot!

Shnoulle, are you talking about the "no answer" question attribute? Can this be used at mandatory questions?

No,

I use a mandatory question with a no answer' answer.

If you use a "no answer" question attribute is taken by default. Then user don't have to choose to don't answer.

with "no answer" question attribute. User choose to answer, if not > no answer.(user don't do action)

With a "no answer" possibility in a mandatory question, user had to choos to not answer.(User do something).

My english is not very good. But we use a lot with money-earning question in marketing.

"What's it your monthly income" (mandatory)
1 - beside 100 $
2 - between 100 and 1000 $
3 - between 1000 and 10 000 $
4 - more than 10 000 $
99 - I don't want to answer at this question.

Did you see the difference ?

Shnoulle, thank you for your answer. I am a new user to the limesurvey. So I am still confused by a couple of questions.

How can I add a "no answer" attribute to a mandatory question? What do you mean "if not > no answer"?

In your sample question, it shows 5 options for users to choose. So does it mean that I have to add "I don't want to answer this question" to all mandatory question?

But I don't want to show "I don't want to answer this question" at the beginning. Only need to add it to the question when the user really don't want to answer the question.

Any suggestion would be appreciated!

What you could do.

Q1: non-mandatory. <i>Can you choose ?</i>
R1
R2

Q2/ set conditions (if Q1= No answer). <i>You didn't choose. Are you sure ?</i>
R1
R2
I'm sure i don't want to choose.

is not

none of the above what you are looking for.

This should allow you to have it mandatory but have no answer.

Thank you very much for your answers.

Is here any way to hide Q2 when the question group first time shows up? I mean: Only show the users Q2 when they did not choose any answer of Q1 (such as both R1 and R2). If the user did choose one answer of Q1 already, we will no longer show them Q2.

Q1: non-mandatory. <i>Can you choose ?</i>
R1
R2

Q2/ set conditions (if Q1= No answer). <i>You didn't choose. Are you sure ?</i>
R1
R2
I'm sure i don't want to choose.
