Hi,
I made a survey and now i want to make the same survey with some mdifications. Is it possible to make a copy of the first survey and then make the modifications to the copied survey?
I read about exporting a survey, but i'm not sure it's the right way for doing a copy.

It is the right way. Just export and import it again.

Thanks for replying.
But after having modified the survey, is the originel survey preserved (questions and their properties and the results in Mysql)? Does the new modified survey get a unique ID (and does it create a new table in Mysql)?

1. preserved -> Yes, of course
2. new ID -> Yes, otherwise the database would be messed up.
3. New table -> There is a new dataset within the surveys table. A new table ''lime_survey_newID'' is created when the survey is activated.

I have the same problem. I have made one big survey and have to make another one which is different in details. I want to duplicate the complete survey structure and than change some things.
How do I do that? I tried some things, but it didn't work....

1. Export the current survey into a .csv file.
2. Create a new survey at the admin screen.
3. Don't fill out anything but chose "import survey".
4. Import the old survey from the .csv file
5. The survey is listed at the survey list. Chose it to edit what you want to change.

I did the same thing, what would be great is if there was a way to change the name of the new-imported survey, without modifying the csv file. Actually it would be nice to modify the name of an existing survey (or give it a version).
