I installed LimeSurvey 1.71 on a Lunix server with PHP 5.1.4 and MySQL 4.1.20. When I click on the "Export Data" icon, it give me a blank page with nothing. When I click on the "Export a VV survey file" icon, it redirect me back to the admin survey homepage. Do anyone knows what's wrong? Is there something wrong with my installation or configuration? Do I need to de-activate the survey before I do the export? Thanks!

Hi, you should be able to export data with an active survey, so something is wrong.

What browser are you using? Is it an SSL page? Can you export the survey structure (from the survey toolbar), or questions?

I tried both Firefox 2.0.014 and IE 7.0, both of them just give me a blank page. When I do view source, there is nothing too, just empty. I have limesurvey installed on a wwws directory, and accessing it through https. Does it makes a difference?

I followed your suggestion and tried to export the survey structure and questions, they works fine. I did have a .csv file downloaded and opened up ok.

The https does make a difference.. bingram on the chat channel last night was mentioning a similar issue with SSL. He was going to open a bug on the matter, because it seemed he'd figured out a fix, but I can't find it yet. You can enter this as a bug yourself, or look out for it at bugs.limesurvey.org

In the meantime, can it be run on a non https server?

I will look for it at bugs.limesurvey.org; if I can't find it, I will submit a bug report then. On our http server, mbstring is not availabe. The IT department here is not willing to add mbstring on the server, so I can only go with https. Thanks for your quick reply and help!!!
