I have asked this in the live chat already but couldn't find the problem.
I have 1&1 web hosting, I uploaded LS v.2 in binary mode via ftp and the directory was created as expected.
Now, when I try to run the installer using mysite.com/limesurvey/admin I get a white screen without any errors or messages. I have tested PHP
(with phpinfo() ) and it is working fine as v. 5.2.17. I have also changed the permission settings as recommended but still only see a white screen. I could use some help troubleshooting as I don't know whether to locate the problem in the 1&1 settings or the limesurvey settings. Any help is highly appreciated. I am not familiar with php but willing to learn!

Please try again using the latest build - we fixed an issue regarding that.

I was having the same problem and even though I thought I had uploaded the files in binary mode I deleted everything and uploaded the entire zip file and then used the cpanel filemanager to unzip the file right on the server and then used the filemanageer to move the files out of the Limesurvey folder up one directory to the root and the install page worked fine.. no more blank page.
