Is it possible to hide the first question group permanently?

Similar to the case of always hiding a question?

Yes. At Limesurvey 1.92/2.x there is a group relevance field. Just enter something like "1==2" there and it should always be hidden.

1) In advanced settings tick for each question "always hide this question"

You can also try to set the "relevance equation" on group level to 0 (zero). But test if the results still get calculated when skipping questions that way.

In my humble opinion the answers on this question are not completely correct or at least dangerous. When the relevance equation of a group is set to 0, the group is not hidden, but it is skipped. That means that the equations om this group are not calculated. And the questions with default values do not receive a value. In general this is not what you want.
The simplest way to hide a group is by hiding all quetions in the group. Now the question/equations are calculated, but the group is hidden.
Or am I incorrect?

Thanks for your clarification. I wasn't sure about calculations being done when hiding the group by setting the relevance to "0".
Can you please add a note to the manual for others about this behavior and other, alternative approaches?!

It sounds like it would be a feature request, but could there be an option to hide all questions in a group (and the question group, itself)?

This way, one could put all equations and url based fields in one place and not have to hide them one by one.

Might this be added at some point?

Can you confirm that when setting all questions of a group to hidden (using the advanced question attributes) the group is not shown BUT calculations for equation questions of this group are still performed at the background?

I think the best approach would be to create a new plugin for mass-editing questions to e.g. hide X questions or set the "hide this tip" attribute for Y questions.

I can confirm that my equations are calculating properly when all questions are hidden (even when based on other questions in a different group where all questions are hidden).

And, as hoped for, the group doesn't show up at all when all questions in the group are hidden.

Mass editing would be an acceptable solution.
