I've just constructed my first survey. On experimenting with it I found the most peculiar behaviour of the 'other' box in a multiple-choice question. I think it's partly intentional, so I think my request for an alternative behaviour is a sort of future-feature request. If I'm wrong, please forgive me (and move the thread to the right place ...

)
If I click in the 'other' box I can type. The box has a white background and the text is black. All seems ok.
Then I noticed that the checkbox next to the 'other' text wasn't checked. I'd expected it would automatically be checked when I typed. Never mind: I checked it.
My text was obliterated! And the check-mark almost immediately disappeared. So I checked it again and aha! the box turns pink. I can type (and, I find, the answer is recorded in the results).
So I'd like a more user-friendly 'other' box. One which accepts text, automatically checks itself as soon as text is typed into it, doesn't delete anything when checked or unchecked, ... and I think that's it.
Or is there a compelling reason why this would be the wrong behaviour?
