Wow, 1.82 is old, really old. Probably there have been made some changes to the template since then. It is difficult to give advice for such an old version of LS. I would really recommend to upgrade, if possible. It is really worth it. LS has improved significantly since then (in my opinion).
Have a look in the source code, where the help icon appears. There must be some element/class/id that you can address with CSS I think.
There you will also find how the help icon is called. I guess it is called help.gif or help.png. For most templates this help image isn't there because it uses the default file. I think if you put a help.gif or help.png into the template folder, LS should recognize it (at least it does this for mint_idea).
However, I would recommend to give CSS one more try.
