I'm just wanting to know if the statistics can be broken down from the base64 string, but still update as users do the survey.

I did a test on my localhost and I was able to pull the statistics down, but I'd like to break down the statistics into each question.

You can pull fresh statistics anytime you like. The current remote control api doesn't allow statistics for only one field like in the normal interface. If you are a programmer, you might add that yourself and issue a pull request on github. Otherwise you could add it as a feature request in our bugtracker.
