Hello All--

Huge fan of the software. It is tremendous! I have a quick question regarding the emailing submissions. My survey using a lot of replacement codes in a format similiar to a mail merge document. I need limesurvey to email them their submission as it appears when they fill it our. The email that is being sent to the administrator and the person completing the survey emails the replacement field codes instead of the values. It looks like the following:

It currently emails: Dear {INSERTANS:49343X5X21}:

when I would like it to email: Dean John,

I am using this survey for compliance work. I need the participant to get an exact copy of what they filled out. Any help would be VERY appreciated. I'm a huge fan and supported of open source. Thank you in advance. Your advice and help is very much appreciated.

I'm using: Version 1.87RC2 (7922), mySQL, PHP5, Linux

This is more a feature request than a bug. When sending emails only certain placeholders are allowed, see docs.limesurvey.org/tiki-index.php?page=...y#Email_placeholders

To replace answers the replacement function has to be extended. Let's try to fool the developers and open a bug ticket though so please open a ticket at the bugtracker and...

1. Give as much information as possible

2. Attach your survey. You can mark your ticket "private" so that only the developers will be able to take a look at it.

3. Provide step-by-step instructions how to reproduce the problem.

4. If possible/helpful please provide screenshots

Afterwards please post the link to the bugtracker so we can follow the progress.


If they say it's a not implemented feature you can add this as a feature request at our new feature tracker . Please describe your idea as detailed as possible and try to outline a suitable solution/implementation aswell.

Any news on this "bug". I'm also very interested in this feature.

It's not a bug but a feature request. We are looking for someone to sponsor implementation of this feature.
