Hi everybody,

a survey is starting on Monday and I'm in big trouble. I'm working on a huge questionnaire and probably I won't make it. I'll explain it to you.

PROBLEM #1

I'll try and summarize the first problem: I have a single response question, call it Q1, with two answer items, call 'em A and B. Then I have Q2 with four items: W, X, Y and Z. Is there a way (I think by using Javascript), to filter Q2 items depending on answer to Q1?

So that: if Q1=1 then show only W and X
if Q1=2 then show only Y and Z

I know I can do it by splitting Q2 in two questions (Q2_1 with W and X and Q2_2 with Y and Z items, but remember I'm just summarizing the problem: I have tons of items and tons of possible combinations )

PROBLEM #2

Meanwhile, I managed to get the first part of my questionnaire. I tested it, but one group isn't working properly: I answer to all the questions, then I push Forward (or Next, I'm from Italy I don't know how it's written in the English version ) but...what the heck! It says that I didn't answer to all the questions!? I go back and check from the beginning and I find that some mandatory questions, though all the conditions are verified, HAVE BEEN SKIPPED and only by pushing next they're appearing

How can I fix these issues?

Not sure if this is the right forum, but one of my respondents is experiencing a funny bug with their invite.

In the actual code all I have is the following:

In my test invite I get the following:

My respondent receives the following:
P! lease click here to participate:
{SURVEYURL}

Note the exclamation mark at "please" - how you ever seen something like this? This is the first respondent I've heard had such a case, but how do you diagnosis it?

how do I install a new translated language on limesurvey - por: oesquivel

our team is conducting a survey online and we need to use a specific language written with a Shree Dev Marathi font. How do I go about installing a new translated font/language onto the survey. And I've read that you need an .mo or .po file format in order for the translation to work so my next questions is: how do you create a file with this extension? Could this be done with FontXChange? Any help is greatly appreciate it since time is very critical.

Multiple Choice Question Validation - por: scanova

Hello,

Looking for some help to make my multiple choice selection easier for some users. We are setting up a survey to allow users to pick which pictures they like best, and vote on pictures. I chose Multiple Choice question, and in advanced settings, have a Maximum Answers value set to 14.

I see that when a user selections over 14 selection, it changes the text on the top from GREEN to REDISH PINK, but for us, a user has to keep scrolling all the way to the top to see that. Is there a way to either disable the checkboxes when the user has selected 14 answers, or, in addition to changing the text on the top of the page, also change the text color in the multiple choice answers?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Hi,

Running limesurvey 2.0. Using the default template when I've created a template it looks great with Compatibility View turned off. If it's turned on, I get answers like this wrapped. Happens for multi-choice check boxes only. Any thoughts on how to get around this?

I'm a bit puzzled. We use webserver authentication (apache with Shibboleth ) with LS 1.91 without any problems. We put a proper .htacces file in the /admin directory. Users can logon and administer their surveys, respondents do go to the /admin folder so they don't need to login.

Now we are setting up a LS2 test installation. I've switched on webserver authentication and I only get it to work when I put a .htaccess file in the LS2 root folder, which requires users to login. But this means that respondents need to pass this authentication as well. When I remove it from the root folder and put it in admin/ or application/ directory, it fails to pick up the username. It's like th eauthentication is reroute to the root directory and that by doing this the user attributes are getting lost.

Is there some obvious mistake I'm making ? I'm still struggling a bit with the new YII structure.

Hallo zusammen,

in einer Umfrage möchte ich mit dem Express Manager die Variable mit dem höchsten Wert identifizieren.

Hintergrund ist: Es gibt in der Umfrage verschiedene Variablen (FEINS, FZWEI, ...).
Diese erhalten durch ihre Faktoren verschiedene Werte.
Nun würde ich gerne eine weitere Variable (FMAX) bilden, welche den Namen bzw. die ID der Variable mit dem höchsten Wert enthält.

Ich habe es mit folgender Formel versucht:
{max(FEINS.question, FZWEI.question, FDREI.question, FVIER.question, FFUENF.question, FSECHS.question, FSIEBEN.question, FACHT.question, FNEUN.question)}

Dabei erhalte ich aber nicht den gesuchten Wert.
Hat einer von euch eine Idee?

Hallo!

Ich habe eine Frage (Mehrfachauswahl), deren Ergebnis in einer anderen Frage (kurzer Text) gespeichert wird, wenn nur eine Antwortmöglichkeit angeklickt ist.

Das funktioniert auch, aber wenn ich die Frage verstecke, wird das Ergebnis nicht mehr gespeichert.

Hat jemand eine Ahnung, wie man dieses Problem lösen kann?

Hello LS Team,

I have a question.

1) I want to ask participants to enter his/her email and then enter it again, to confirm it was entered correctly.

I have been reading about question level validation: manual.limesurvey.org/wiki/Question_type...28preg_validation.29

But, I cannot figure out how to compare the values from one question to another question using the validation functions. I know this can be done with the expression manager, but to my mind this is a bit clunky. I would have to use a boilerplate question as a custom warning message if the emails didn't match and set a condition not to allow the participant to submit the survey unless the two email questions match.

Can the question validation functionality be used to accomplish this? Is there a better solution?

Hi there,

we're successfully using remote control to import .lss files to create new client satisfaction surveys from our template, create/activate tokens, invite participants, etc., all from our custom CRM software.
This is really great, and saves us a lot of time.
This is done using dedicated admin credentials.

There's one thing I can't figure out how to do, though :
I've set several users, each one managing a list of clients, so they're able to login to limesurvey to see statistics, responses, maybe send reminders...

But I have to manually add their permissions to the existing dedicated admin account (used to create the new survey).

I totally understand that permissions from the "original" survey (that is, the template.lss file) are not replicated when importing it to a new survey.
But would it be some other way to add permissions for an existing account, than to login to LS and do it there ?

This would allow us to complete the automation process.

Über URL-Parameter lassen sich bekanntlich Fragen vorausgefüllt an einen Fragebogen übergeben. Das klappt auch in Limesurvey 2. Was nicht mehr funktioniert ist, wenn ich für Frage 2 einen vorausgefüllten Wert übergeben möchte, die Anzeige dieser Frage aber von Frage 1 abhängt.

In Limesurvey 1 hat das noch funkioniert. Im Anhang ist eine kleine Beispielumfrage.

I have repeatedly tried and retried installing LimeSurvey on my website, following the installation manual to the letter. However, when attempting to run the installation script (your.domain.com/limesurvey/admin", I get the following error message:

Directory Listing Denied
This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed.

I have searched the forum for previous posts, but since nothing turns up, it seems as if I am the only one who have ever encountered this problem.

Please help.

Is that we only can get "Arithmetic mean" in Statistics summary when the question type is "5 point choice", "Array(5 point choice)" or "Array(10 point choice)"?

As I make the question type as "5 point choice", can I change the selection text to "Very good", "good", "not bad" etc. instead of "1", "2", "3" etc. ?

for example:
Question: "How do you feel about your life?"
Answer:
A.Very good
B.Good
C.Not bad
D.Not so good
E.Worst

I would like to survey 100 companies, but I still don't have the e-mail adresses and names of all the persons I will send the survey to. Is it possible to generate a token table for the information I have at the moment, send the survey to these people first, and then keep adding new contacts to the same token table thus sending the survey at different times?
