Two days I ago we received email from Hiroki Yoshino, a guy from the japanese web design company OFFIBBA (check it out - amazing work!). He sent us a japanese translation for the web interface for the upcoming LimeSurvey version 1.50 - which is now already checked into the development version. But not only that - he also announced he will translate the online documentation in our Wiki - and just today he did most if it! All Japanese LimeSurvey users will love to see this new documentation translation. For us it is exiciting since it shows that the LimeSurvey community is growing steadily - and we really love the japanese chars! If you (yes you!) want to add your language to LimeSurvey or updating existing ones you can start here or here - if you have any questions regarding translations just leave me a message. |

Due to two security holes found in LimeSurvey we decided to have a quick new candidate release. All current users of 1.45 or higher are strongly recommended to upgrade to version 1.49RC3 as soon as possible.
Also this release fixes a number of minor issues with the last release candidate.

This has been a crazy month. Alot of people have discovered us in the last 30 days - partly due to the new name, partly due to nice reviews (eg. Linux.com). Anyway the positive response was overwhelming. Keep it coming and we will continue to improve LimeSurvey each day!
This new release fixes about 30 bugs from the last Release Candidate (RC), and I can say that through the tireless feedback of our users, this new release candidate is recommended for use, which means it is nearing the end of the process as the next production release. Since alot in the interface has been changed and because there are some known non-critical issues we would like to fix, this is the last RC before final release - Promise!
Now go to downloads and have fun with this new release candidate!

Go to downloads, its hot and spicy! This new version is a release candidate which fixes so many things. Additionally we added a turkish translation, support for Semantic Differential Questions and much more. We all think this will be the last RC before stable. But still please report any issue you might have with this version in the bugtracker! Ahh.. and consider a donation to this project if you like new features. The support for Semantic Differential Questions was sponsored by a kind donation. The unstable demo has been updated, check it out. Have fun! |

Due to the increasing numbers of users people having problems with emailing in version 1.0 we decided to do a small update release. This new release is using the very reliable phpmailer library (which will be used in the upcoming 1.50 version too) for better emailing, contains a very small image fix and a small new feature which lets you include the token id on the exit URL. All version 1.0 users are recommended to update! Have fun with this new release! |

This is big news and someone might have wondered why that lime fruit appeared in our logo starting a few weeks ago. It was all preparation for a step we are now taking. PHPSurveyor gets a new name: LimeSurvey ! "Why?" you might ask and you are right to do so. Well.. we all agree PHPSurveyor isn't the easiest to remember name but that wasn't so important to us - the thing that made us finally give our baby a new name was the restriction that we could never use any libraries using the PHP license (e.g. PEAR) in our software - because of the darn letters 'PHP' in our name. So what are the next steps: Beside a new name we will get now have a much lighter and more friendly website - and we would like to emphasize user friendliness and much easier installation in future versions of LimeSurvey. It's not there yet but you might have seen improvement in the last RC version. Does anything else change? No. Just we will try to rock the surveys. Last but not least I want to thank all the people that gave us feedback, donated to us and told us how they used PHPSurveyor/LimeSurvey and what they liked and what not. They helped us a great deal to move forward. Thank you! |
