Hi,

I'm wondering if it is possible to distinguesh between nl_BE and nl_NL when writing translations for some questions. Now I only see the possibility to translate for dutch.

We'd like to setup some medical surveys and terminology is quite different in different countries.

Hi,

I've posted this question 3 years ago but received no answer. Would someone be able to answer it now?

I agree that sometimes it makes a difference to have different version of a language.

But I just can't believe that medical terminology will be different between Belgium and the Netherlands in Dutch (or flemisch). Usually the country specific differences focus on more day to day language, rather than specific terms. But I am not expert on Dutch or Flemish.

If the differences are really so big, you might want to copy the questionnaire and create a separate Questionnaire. Because the Limesurvey internal translation shouldn't impact that much.

If you really want to create (AND MAINTAIN) Flemish as a new language, then you can see here:
manual.limesurvey.org/Translating_LimeSurvey

There is a paragraph on how to create new languages in Limesurvey.
