I made the backup of all files and database to install the version 2.0. But, at the moment, I have some problem with library, so I decided to restore to the previous version.
So I restore by ftp all the previous file but when I make the login, it accepts my old user and password, but just a click on something it put me off. I tryed using debug option and this is the message:
"Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: open(/tmp/session/sess_76c0b397d98bd7f0b750010a35615d5b, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in /opt/apache/htdocs/MYWEBSITE.it/admin/sessioncontrol.php on line 36"
AND
"Warning: Unknown: open(/tmp/session/sess_76c0b397d98bd7f0b750010a35615d5b, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in Unknown on line 0"

"Warning: Unknown: Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/tmp/session) in Unknown on line 0"
Please help me!
Thanks a lot

Solved!
Just add this to config.php

// $sessionhandler can be either 'file' or 'db'. (default: 'file').
$sessionhandler = 'db';

Today after opening I got this surprise:
Fatal error: session_start() [<a href='function.session-start'>function.session-start</a>]: Failed to initialize storage module: user (path: /tmp/session) in /opt/apache/htdocs/mywebsite.it/admin/sessioncontrol.php on line 36
What happened?

Please check if the /tmp folder exists and is writeable.

Please also check if the folder defined fo the session.save_path at php.ini exists and is writable.

Storing the session atthe admin folder is quite unusual.

Test creating a new folder with 777 rights and change the session storage setting.

Sorry, I didnt'understand. I have not direct accedd to database. I have only user, name and password. I cannot reach php.ini so the the session.save_path at php.ini is the default fodler (tmp I think).
But It's very strange that this error happened without any works by me. The day before alla worked fine! Could be a problem of database or php?
In database location I have a ip address; now, if I put this ip in explorer the page not exists. I don't know if this is normal.
Thanks

If there were problems with the database location, you wouldn't be able to log in at Limesurvey at all.

It might be possible that your provider updated the PHP version or did other changes to the server causing this problem to show up.
Please get in touch with them, they might know more about the background.
