Hi to all,
I'm trying to migrate an entirely terminated survey from 1.91 to 1.92: survey structure, tokens and responses.
Someone could indicate to me which steps I've to follow?
thanks
Luciano

I'm not sure if the table structure for the lime_survey_12345 table has changed between these versions. If not, try the following:
1. Export the survey as .LSS file and import it as the 1.92 version.
2. Activate the survey.
3. Export the answers as VV file (see docs.limesurvey.org/Exporting+results&st...Export_and_VVImport_)
4. Edit the exported file and try VV import at 1.92.

If the table structure differs, export the empty answer table at 1.92 and compare the two exported VV files to see in which way they differs.

Always create backups before trying this!

I tried this solution, but I need to migrate also tokens, and so my responses are not associated with tokens

Tokens can easily be copied by using (CSV) token export and import at the token screen.

I've exported the token file of a terminated survey and then imported the file into a new survey with the same structure.
The problem is that the import of this token file initializes different fields of the token table: "ID", "INVITATION SENT", "REMINDER COUNT", etc, etc. In this way it can be problematic the correct association with the responses table that I'd migrate after.
I think that the best solution is to copy entirely all the records into the 2 table (tokens and responses), after creating them with the eventually new structure of 1.92 version.
As soon as possible I'll try this way.
thanks

The ID is an incrementing value, so this might change. But do the invitation/reminder dates change as when importing the CSV file?
How about the uses_left field, does it keep the value from the imported file or is that overwritten?

The fields of the token table that are "resetted" after an import are (brackets the value entered automatically after export):
-ID (increment)
-Invitation sent (N)
-Reminder sent (N)
-Reminder count (0)
-Completed (N)
-Uses left (0)

That is not very good behavior I would say. From my point of view, if Invitation sent, Reminder sent, Reminder count, Completed, Uses left are filled with the non default values, then those existing values should be imported whilst when they are blank, the default values should be used.

What do you think?

I think that an import should write the exactly value from the csv.
I'll try using the sql insert statement generated by phpMyAdmin, and probably I'll change the datatype of the ID field to permit the use of the same ID of my old tokens.

I agree!

Please open a ticket at the bugtracker and...

  2. Attach your survey. You can mark your ticket "private" so that only the developers will be able to take a look at it.
  3. Provide step-by-step instructions how to reproduce the problem.
  4. If possible/helpful please provide screenshots

Afterwards please post the link to the bugtracker so we can follow the progress.

Thanks!
