Hi there,

I'm using limesurvey version 1.86 (7697) (on Apache MySQL client: 5.0.51a), everything was working fine for several months. But now, all of a sudden, I can't view the responses ("Browse responses for this survey" button) - the only thing I get is a blank page. IE, Google Chrome, Opera, everytime the same results - blank page.

Could you please give me an advice, how to solve this issue? Or where to look?

Hello,

If you have acces to the log file of the server, look at it when you trye to access the statistics. Maybe a tmp directory access.

I can't access the statistics at all, since this feature is inside the "Browse responses".

Tmp folder is set to 777. Log directory is empty.

We can't help more with this version, sorry.

Yeah, I know it's a bit "ancient", but was working fine for maybe two years, so why bother to upgrade? ;) If I won't find a solution for this, I'll upgrade the version, along with my whole site.

This doesn't happen out of the blue. Probably some server setting was changed at the background. Please ask your sysadmin if there have been any changes and also ask for access to the servers error log (please attach it here).

Please switch on debug mode by adding the following line to your config.php file:
$debug = '1';

Are there any additional errors reported on top of the page?

Dear Mazi,

thanks a lot help! Turning on the debug mode was exactly what I needed! :) Found some spy/grey/mal/whatever/WARE in the browse.php file. Just a warning for anyone else, it was this:

Downloaded the clean browse.php file, set the permission not to write for anybody and now it's ok.

Ahh, this looks nasty. I recommend to check all files if they are infected as well. Maybe a complete re-upload of all Limesurevy files should be considered.

Out of curiosity, which file permissions did you set for the browse.php file? Because it should not be writeable which seemed to have been the case here.

I don't recall what the permission was when I've found the problem, however I set it now to 754.

Which Limesurvey version did you use?

Are there other applications hosted on the same server?

(Just trying to figure out how this file could get corrupted)
