My provider uses Plesk, and has a tool called Installatron that you can use to install (among others) LimeSurvey, so I did. The problem is, that I don't get mails when a survey has finished. If I set it to error report, it indeed alerts that 'something went wrong' but gives no clue what went wrong. The server log files I can find, don't mention anything about this either.

I tried other e-mail methodes (in the top row settings). I tried using a different mailadresses/server. I read about a 'mail to default button' in this forum, after an update. Couldn't find the button so I tried updating via the 'easy' way, but it said there was something with the version.php. So I set the rights to 777 but still it gives a white page at step 3 of the easy updating.. What gives? :dry:

So I tried to do it manually, following the instructions, but I managed to mess it up. Used phpFileManager and phpMyAdmin, but couldn't get those to work either.. man I'm fed up with it after about 11 hours of messing around.

I deleted all and used installatron again, this time I put it in /limesurvey instead of /. but I still get the same alert at easy updating:
Checking existing LimeSurvey files...

The following files will be modified or deleted but were already modified by someone else.
We recommend that these files should be replaced by the update procedure.
/version.php
Please check any problems above and then proceed to the next step.

But what can I do about it?! If I proceed, a 3rd page appears that is completely blanc.


Any advice is much appreciated.




edit: BTW At least, I received a first confirmation mail now. Still would like to iron out the update problem though.

Darn I feel dumpdb. I should have asked here and gone to bed last night.
